Wo Long Fallen Dynasty Trailer Sword Duel

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty action gameplay trailer showcases frenetic combat and grotesque boss encounters

It's an unforgiving world out there.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, the latest title by action game developer Team Ninja, has just received a new trailer highlighting intense action and combat. For those who don’t know, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty functions as another action RPG much like Team Ninja’s Souls-inspired series Nioh. That series’ producer, Fumihiko Yasuda, serves as a producer for this game as well, and it even has Bloodborne Producer Masaaki Yamagiwa involved. For fans of those properties, this should bode well for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s brand of action. And with this new trailer, fans can see even more of this high-octane action for themselves.

This trailer depicts the player character facing off against all sorts of unsightly creatures, including a blood-soaked boar and a long-armed, primate-esque monster. The player character can stand toe to toe with these beasts with his flashy sword skills, although not without struggle.

Shots of the protagonist cleanly parrying and countering enemy attacks are accompanied by moments where he’s on the receiving end of the enemy’s comically brutal blows. It seems safe to say that if players want to look cool while fighting these foes, they will have to earn it.

No shortage of combat options

According to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s Steam page, players can battle opponents with glaives, dual swords, and plenty of other weapons. In addition to blunt strikes, players can rely on Wizardry Spells to command the elements. Players even have the ability to summon Divine Beasts “to perform feats of great power.”

Alongside the action trailer, publisher Koei Tecmo also revealed that Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will see a day one release on PC Game Pass. We knew it was heading to the service, but now we know that’ll it’ll be available right at launch. If you are interested in the game but do not feel like forking over $59.99 USD just yet, this may serve as a viable alternative for you. No matter how you choose to play it, you can expect to get your hands on it starting March 3, 2023.
