Wo Long: Where to find Zhu Xia, the blacksmith, and upgrade gear

Upgrade your gray matter, cuz one day it may matter

Early on in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, you’ll meet a blacksmith named Zhu Xia in one of the game’s levels. You may be expecting her to pop up in each level, but you won’t see her showing up in the field again. If you want to make use of her services, you’re going to need to go and see her on her home turf. After all, you can’t upgrade your gear or embed new traits on them without her help, so it’s understandable that you might be wondering where she’s hiding in the rest of the game. Turns out she isn’t far at all. Here’s how to find the blacksmith so you can upgrade your gear in Wo Long.

Where to find the blacksmith

After doing the game’s intro, you’ll be able to visit the hidden village via the “other” category on the travel menu. Once there, you’ll find yourself near a flag. To find the blacksmith, you’re going to want to walk on one of the big, green vine growths to the right of the flag — specifically the one that takes you lower. Walk down this path and it won’t be long before you find Zhu Xia, the blacksmith who will not only let you upgrade your gear in Wo Long, but allow you to salvage items in your inventory for important components that will let you improve other pieces of gear.

How to upgrade gear in Wo Long

Now that you know where the blacksmith is, it’ll be easy to make sure you have the best gear you can for extra protection against the powerful foes you’ll be facing. Therefore, it’s a good idea to regularly stop in and use a bit of steel and leather to make sure you’re in fighting shape, lest you face the consequences and get annihilated by the demon hordes. Or Lu Bu. Whichever one kills you first. But who am I kidding? It’s both. But you did your best and that’s what truly matters, isn’t it?

You’ll need to use Leather and Steel as crafting materials to upgrade, so check out our guide below to find out where to get plenty.
