Wolfenstein Youngblood ray tracing

Wolfenstein: Youngblood looks even better with new ray-tracing update

We already knew that Wolfenstein: Youngblood was a great-looking game from the team at Bethesda and Machine Games. But now, thanks to a new substantial update that went live today, it’s ready to look even better. Nvidia made note of this new update on its website, which adds a number of visual touch-ups to the game. These include ray-traced reflections, along with Nvidia-powered DLSS and highlights. With these implemented, the game now features improved reflections, shadow, and lighting.

What does the game look like when this new updated is enabled?

Once applied, Wolfenstein: Youngblood will be able to handle “high-quality, high-detail, lifelike reflections that elevate graphical fidelity,” according to the report. In addition, “weapon effects reflecting and dynamic real-time reflections” will also be on a mindblowing level, provided you have the specs to handle them.

The video below provides a good demonstration of what these new graphics can do for your game performance.

Nvidia also made note of how to make the most of these settings. You’ll need to make sure you have the latest Game Ready Driver, along with the most recent Windows 10 update.

From there, go down to Options and select Advanced Settings in the Video submenu. Switch Ray-Traced Reflections on and restart the game, and you’ll see them applied immediately. You can also switch on Nvidia DLSS, and the DLSS mode, for even further quality performance. Again, it helps to have the right GeForce tools for the job, like the RTX 2060 at a resolution of 1920 x 1080. The RTX 2070 will also do just fine, as well as the RTX 2080.

More technical specs are available at the Nvidia website. The update is set to go live starting on January 6.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is currently available on Steam for $29.99. Bethesda’s next big and epic FPS is Doom Eternal, releasing this March.
