World of Tanks Sets Concurrent User Record

A new record has been set for the upcoming MMO tank action title World of Tanks according to developer Wargaming.Net.
Peak users hit a whopping 74,536 concurrent online players on the same game server on 5 January for the Russian release of the game. The international version of the game is still in closed beta and that managed to achieve an all time best of 16,070 players on 29 December according to Wargaming.Net’s reporting. Wargaming.net CEO Victor Kisly added:
“The online peak has been growing steadily for the past several weeks, and the PCCU numbers shown by both World of Tanks versions are just astonishing. We are extremely proud of the scale of popularity the game has managed to gain so far. The fact that Western and Russian players keep on joining the ranks of virtual tank commanders makes us believe that more records are to come”.
The game is still in Beta testing and players can sign-up to take part via the website.
