World of Warcraft’s Rocket Mount Now Available

Blizzard is now rewarding players that recruit new people to its MMO World of Warcraft with a flying rocket mount.

The X-53 Touring Rocket is the first flying mount in the game that holds a passenger, meaning that players can now transport friends around much quicker than before. For now, this mount only flies in Outland and Northrend, however, after Cataclysm flying mounts will be usable in the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor too.

To obtain the rocket, players must refer a friend to the game, who must in turn purchase the full game and pay a subscription for two months. For the first 90 days, the two friends will be able to summon each other and gain triple XP points. The new player can even grant bonus levels to the referrer.

Check out the FAQ for more detailed info but, for now, here’s an image of the wonderful new flying machine.
