Xbox One Sales Have “Slowed To A Crawl” Says The Motley Fool

According to The Motley Fool, things may not be looking so good for Microsoft when it comes to the Xbox One. Despite a great launch, the sales of the console have “slowed to a crawl” and last month the PS4 outsold the Xbox One by a ratio of 2 to 1. These figures are from the research firm NPD.

Is the PS4 just doing especially well or is the Xbox One not selling as well as we all thought it would? At this early stage in the game it is hard to say but there are reports that retailers such as Target, Wal-Mart, and GameStop have begun to offer consumers deals on the Xbox One. Not a good sign considering how new the console is.

If you purchase an Xbox One from Wal-Mart you will get a free game wheras Target will give you $50 in store credit. GameStop is also offering $10 off a second wireless controller and allowing customers to reserve a console on layaway.

Things are a lot better for the PS4 as almost all retailers are out of stock when it comes to the console. With its slightly better graphics and the fact it’s $100 cheaper than the Xbox One, the PS4 seems to be the console gamers are flocking to. Many people are beginning to suspect that we could see Microsoft reduce the price of the console in order to compete.

It’s important to remember however that the fortunes of a console can change overnight. Recently Nintendo took a massive hit but things returned to normal for them in a matter of days. It’s still very early days for the PS4 and Xbox One and what with Xbox exclusive games coming like Halo 5 and Titanfall, the Xbox One is far from disaster The only people who really know how things stand are Microsoft.
