Don't do what I did...

Palworld offers a unique combination of the monster-catching and survival crafting genres. There’s also a sprinkling of RPG mechanics like stats to level up. If you’re wondering what to invest in, here are the best character stats to level up in Palworld in our Player Leveling Guide.

Stats are a little scary in Palworld as they are non-refundable, and it can feel like you’ve wasted valuable points if you don’t notice a difference. I definitely made mistakes when I started, so I hope my errors give you a smoother experience.

I recommend investing in Weight first, as it dramatically increases your carrying capacity. Each point you spend adds 50 to your capacity, which is a big deal as resources like Ore and Stone are extremely heavy. Exploring and gathering materials are a huge part of the early game loop in Palworld, and investing in Weight makes this much smoother.

After you’ve invested four or five points in Weight, HP is a great stat to swap to. You get 100 additional Hit Points per level, and these start to matter against larger foes. It’s worth mentioning that your Armor affects your HP value. I found 1,000 HP is plenty to deal with the first boss, but more is always a good investment.

Finally, Stamina is a good tertiary stat if you’re happy with your Weight and HP. Stamina is more of a quality-of-life stat, allowing you to run and climb further without stopping.

Should I spend points on the Attack and Work Speed stat in Palworld?

I invested heavily into the Attack stat and regret it. Hitting harder is nice, but once you’re a few hours into Palworld, your Pals will start to deal far more damage than you can. It’s good practice always to craft the most potent weapons available, but your damage numbers eventually take the backseat.

Work Speed seems unnecessary unless you can’t wait for crafts to be completed. Your Pals will often aid you at crafting stations if they can and will even continue building if you leave. With this in mind, I wouldn’t waste points on Work Speed, as you’ll get more mileage from the other stats.
