Best Katana build and weapon in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0

Hack and slash.

Choosing your way to play is the core of what makes Cyberpunk 2077 what it is. If you want to be a rolling tank of bullets, that’s totally doable. If you want to be a sneaky hacker causing damage from the shadows, go ahead. However, if you want to roll out like a samurai and turn your enemies into sliced ham with a katana, the game more than accommodates. These are the best katanas in Cyberpunk 2077, and the build that will make them all that more powerful.

There are tons of Katanas in Cyberpunk 2077, ranging from your basic meat cleaver up to blades akin to lightsabers. With this guide, we will look for some of the best on the market and where you can get your hands on them.

Thermal Blade Errata

As covered in our guide here, the Errata is a must-have for anyone wanting to swing around a burning blade. The Katana will require you to have level 20 technical ability in Cyberpunk 2077, but the payoff is well worth it.

The Katana has incredibly high damage but also a relatively high stamina cost. However, what really sets it apart from the rest is the +25% armor penetration and +30% Burn chance.

Satori

Although this Katana has low initial damage, it has a staggering +500% critical hit damage modifier. This makes it, by far, one of the best Katanas available in the game. With a few of the relevant perks bought in the skill tree, you can become devastating.

You can find the Satori in an AV at the end of The Heist mission you do with Jackie at the end of Act One. This is one of the best Katanas and should not be missed if you’re wanting one in your build.

Tsumetogi

This Katana is super fast, dealing a total of 754.4 DPS. It also comes with +96 – 118 Electrical Damage and a +20% Chance of inflicting Shock. Your enemies are going to be buzzed to have this used against them.

You can get this blade by completing the side job for Judy. It is called Talking About a Revolution. Once the mission is complete, you will see the Katana sitting on the table. Grab it to perfect your best Katana build in Cyberpunk 2077.

Scalpel

The Scalpel is not suitable for surgery. What sets it apart, besides its extremely fast attack speed, is the various elemental damages it also inflicts. While doing base damage, it also has the chance to inflict +92 – 113 Chemical damage, +92 – 113 Electric damage, +92 – 113 Physical damage, and +92 – 113 Thermal damage.

To obtain this Katana for your build, you need to complete Big in Japan in Cyberpunk 2077. This is a quest picked up from Afterlife in Act Two after speaking to Dennis.

The best Katana build

To really make the most of your Katana, the best plan is to go for the Cyber Assassin build as outlined here. This build focuses heavily on the Reflex tree to create a heavily Katana-based approach in Cyberpunk 2077.

The Reflex tree will provide aerial acrobatics and Stamina regeneration with the center branch. However, what really stands out for a Katana build in Cyberpunk 2077 is the right side of the Reflex tree. Not only will this side help you deflect bullets and return them with bleeding damage, but the linking skills with the center will also allow you to dash incredible distances into enemies.
