What are normally called classes in almost every RPG are called Archetypes in Remnant 2. You’ve come here to learn if you can change your Remnant 2 class, and if so, how. Well, let’s get into it. Here is everything you need to know about changing your Archetype in Remnant 2.

How to change your class in Remnant 2

You can change your Archetype in Remnant 2. However, the only way to do it is to start from the beginning of the game.

After selecting your difficulty and playing through the tutorial for the first time, you can make a new character and pick a new class from the title screen. You can make up to five characters in Remnant 2.

The good news is that if you have completed the tutorial, then you can check a box to skip it when you create a new character and a new Archetype. I would definitely recommend doing that because, while the opening tutorial bit was informational, it wasn’t the strongest opening to a video game and is definitely one to skip if you can.

What are the best Archetypes in Remnant 2?

Each Archetype in Remnant 2 offers a different playstyle, which makes for a lot of great team compositions in co-op. To get a good feel of what each Archetype is like and which one is the best, I definitely recommend reading our all Remnant 2 classes ranked guide.

But for the quick answer, I think Medic is the most beginner-friendly Archetype in Remnant 2, Hunter is a great support Archetype for big parties but is not the best pick for solo players since you’ll constantly get overwhelmed by enemies, Challenger is great for solo and group play since it’s a great class for dealing with big groups of enemies, Handler is one of the best solo Archetypes because you get a companion that can revive you, and Gunslinger is definitely the best solo Archetype because it can deal high long range and close range damage.

If you’ve started with an Archetype and realized that you don’t like it after playing through an area or two, I highly recommend experimenting with other Archetypes before you continue forward. Remnant 2 is a long and confusing game, one that you’ll definitely want to play your way by picking the best class for you.
