How to find the Dark Ravine dungeon in Diablo 4

Seeing red mist.

This dungeon took me an age to figure out. I knew the location and how to get to it, but for some reason, it was locked behind a red wall of mist. Figuring out how to access the Dark Ravine dungeon in Diablo 4 took me more hours than I would like to admit, but the completionist in me wouldn’t let it rest. This dungeon isn’t challenging to complete or find, but there are a few parameters you must meet before entering.

The Dark Ravine dungeon will help you earn renown for the Dry Steppes region. It is initially part of a quest but can be conquered later in the game once you have progressed far enough. To find the dungeon on your map, you must have passed the third act in which you talk to Lorath and stop the blood ritual. Only then will the mist wall dissipate for the Dark Ravine in Diablo 4.

The dungeon can be found on the map east of Ked Bardu. You must make your winding way through the mountains to the end location as marked on the map. Ensure you are at the correct part of the campaign, or the long journey to the Dark Ravine will be wasted.

This dungeon can’t be rushed, the maps are large, and the enemies are pretty tanky. Upon entering the Dark Ravine, you must collect Animus from Animus carriers. As is often the case with this quest, each one is tucked far away in the depths of the map, so make sure you uncover it all. Once you have collected it all, deposit it in the vessel and move on to the next area.

The next area is also extensive, and you must search it all for the favored. These elites pop up from statues and must be dispatched along with their mobs. There are only three of them, but they will take some time to find.

Finally, you must kill the Boss: Mother Judgment. She is really pretty simple and has no minions, which may cause an issue for necromancers. She uses shock circles as an attack which show up faintly on the floor. You need to watch for these because they will kill you very quickly. I recommend ranged attacks or close range followed by dashing.

You will be rewarded with Aspect of Might upon completion, which can be used for all classes.
