Where to find all the Wax Seeds in Blasphemous 2

Wax on, wax off.

Of all the sidequests in Blasphemous 2’s densely-packed world, the search for the Wax Seeds is certainly one of the strangest. Not only does it center around a deeply disturbing character, the truly tragic Cesáreo, but it also doesn’t start until well into the later stages of the game, making it feel like a left-field addition. That said, it’s still a task that’s well worth completing, since you’ll be rewarded with a powerful Statue if you manage to find where all six of the Wax Seeds in Blasphemous 2 are hidden. This guide will show you how to do just that.

How to unearth the Wax Seeds in Blasphemous 2

Your search for Wax Seeds will begin in the Severed Tower area, in a small room on the left side of the area. Here you’ll meet Cesáreo, a huge man struggling to feed his proportionately huge baby. He’ll ask you to bring him Wax Seeds to help him out, and grant you a reward if you deliver all six. Here are all of their locations:

Wax Seed 1

Location: City of the Blessed Name

Requirements: Ivy of Ascension Ability, 12000 Tears of Atonement

You may well have picked this Seed up early on in your quest, since it’s available almost right from the start. Once you’ve acquired the Ivy of Ascension ability, you can climb to the right side of the chasm in the City of the Blessed Name, and gain access to the rest of the area. Here you’ll find a shop run by a giant hand, where you’ll find, among other things, a Wax Seed for sale for 12000 Tears of Atonement.

Wax Seed 2

Location: Grilles and Ruin

Requirements: Passage of Ash and Scions’ Protection Abilities

This Seed is found behind a shortcut gate on the right side of the area, where it connects to Streets of Wakes. To access it, you’ll need to acquire the Passage of Ash and Scions’ Protection abilities, head to the Prie Dieu in Streets of Wakes at the bottom of the narrow shaft, the one that branches out into different NPC rooms, and climb to the top. From here, head to the right, and you’ll find the second Wax Seed, as well as a switch for opening the shortcut gate.

Wax Seed 3

Location: Repose of the Silent One

Requirements: 6000 Tears of Atonement

You can find this Seed back where it all began: in the game’s opening area, Repose of the Silent One. However, you’ll need to enter from a different doorway than usual. After defeating Sinodo, Hymn of the Thousand Voices, the boss of the Severed Tower area, you can head right from their arena and come out in a new section of Repose of the Silent One. Here you’ll encounter the traveling Scribe, who will sell you this Wax Seed for 6000 Tears of Atonement. Note that you can buy this Seed later, when you encounter the Scribe again, but this is the point at which it first becomes available.

Wax Seed 4

Location: Labyrinth of Tides

Requirements: Scions’ Protection Ability

To get this Seed, you’ll need to return to the Labyrinth of Tides once you’ve acquired the Scions’ Protection ability. Once you’ve got it, head to the top-left room in the area, and complete the platforming challenge you’ll find there. After looping around the room, you’ll find the Wax Seed lying on the ground.

Wax Seed 5

Location: Two Moons

Requirements: Access to Two Moons

From the lower-right flip point in Two Moons, head right and you’ll encounter a locked shortcut gate with an item behind it. This is the next Wax Seed, and to get it you’ll need to go down, left through the room full of lasers, then up and back to the right, where you’ll find a Prie Dieu. From here, go right again to get back to the room with the shortcut gate, which you’ll now be able to open, claiming the Seed in the process.

Wax Seed 6

Location: Aqueduct of the Costales

Requirements: Scions’ Protection Ability

The final Wax Seed can be found in the top-left room of the Aqueduct of the Costales, one of the first areas you’ll likely have visited during your time with Blasphemous 2. Enter the room from the right, and allow yourself to fall through the rickety bridge. Underneath, you’ll be able to use the Scions’ Protection ability to reach a climb point, which you can then use to access a platform just under the door on the right. Here, you can claim the last Wax Seed.

Rewards

Once you’ve harvested all six Wax Seeds, return to Cesáreo in Severed Tower and he’ll give you your reward: the Remembrance of Cesáreo Key Item. Take this to Montañés, or his daughter Venerada, if you’ve finished his questline, in City of the Blessed Name, and you can redeem it for the Selfless Father: a Statue that reduces the Fervour cost of your Prayers by 25%. This is an extremely powerful Statue for any kind of Prayer-focused build, and a worthy reward for searching out every last Seed in the game.

So there you have it: a full guide on where to find all of the Wax Seeds in Blasphemous 2. It may not offer the same level of rewards as other sidequests in the game, but it’s still well worth finishing, for both completionists and those who like to smite their enemies down with the power of Prayer.
