Will Valorant have cross-play between PC and console?

Before Valorant officially arrives on consoles, Riot will hold a Limited Beta to test it out. The real question is whether Valorant will support cross-play between PC and console, which will not be happening. We do know for a fact that cross-play will only be available between Xbox and PlayStation.

In a support page on Valorant’s website, Riot stated what type of cross-play Valorant will support. Riot assured that console players will not be able to play with PC players. This is probably good for console players since playing via mouse and keyboard versus a controller are very different and keeping console players fighting against other console players will make for balanced matches.

The good news is that cross-play will be available between consoles, which are Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. This means that if you have an Xbox and your friend has a PS5, you two can play with each other online.

How console controller presets will work in Valorant

If you’re wondering about how Valorant will feel on console, we already have confirmation on what the controller presets will look like. In a post on Twitter/X, “rabiasayal86” shared images of the console controller presets for Valorant.

It’s nice to see that you aren’t just stuck with one type of button presets. There are a bunch of layouts available to try out, each one displayed in the post above. Seeing as there are six controller presets, it doesn’t seem like you can create your own preset.

If you already have a Valorant account, you’ll be able to share your inventory between playing on PC and console with cross-progression. Anyone interested in trying out the Limited Beta should sign up for it on Riot Games’ website.

Hopefully, we were able to clear up any confusion you had about cross-play and controller presets with Valorant on consoles. Besides the huge announcement of Valorant arriving on Xbox and PlayStation, Summer Game Fest also revealed exciting games like LEGO Horizon Adventures and Killer Bean.
