Hectic Highway is a secret stage in the Operation Guns DLC, which doesn’t display its unlock requirement. Fear not, here’s how to unlock the secret stage Hectic Highway and find the coffin in Vampire Survivors.
How to unlock Hectic Highway in Vampire Survivors Operation Guns
There are a couple of prerequisites to unlocking the new Hectic Highway stage. Ultimately, you must survive on the Neo Galuga stage for 15 minutes as Lucia. The issue is that Lucia herself is locked behind several requirements. Here’s everything you need to do to unlock her:
- Unlock Bill
- Unlock Lance
- Unlock Arian
- Unlock Lucia
- Survive 15 minutes on Neo Galuga with Lucia to unlock Hectic Highway.
Unlock Bill in Vampire Survivors
Bill is in a coffin on the Neo Galuga map. Once you’ve tracked him down, you can either finish your current run or quit the main menu. Once you’ve purchased him, Bill is available on the character selection screen and can be used on any map.Â
Unlock Lance in Vampire Survivors
You can unlock Lance by evolving the Long Gun, which is Bill’s signature weapon.
You can do this by ranking up the Long Gun to level eight and picking up one of the Weapon Power-Ups (as shown above) on Neo Galuga. Weapon Power-Ups look like metal briefcases and are required to evolve every Operation Guns weapon. Long Gun is unique in that it doesn’t require a max level passive weapon like the other weapon evolutions do.
I’ve found that the easiest way to evolve weapons in Vampire Survivors Operation Guns is to fully unlock them. With the gun unlocked, you can choose to level it up which makes getting it to level eight much easier. You unlock a weapon by surviving for 15 minutes with the base weapon’s character. For example, since Bill’s weapon is Long Gun, if you survive 15 minutes with Bill, you unlock Long Gun.
Unlock Ariana in Vampire Survivors
You’re probably noticing a pattern here. Ariana is unlocked by evolving Lance’s signature weapon, the Short Gun. You can do this by ranking the weapon up to level eight, getting Bracer to level eight, and then picking up a Weapon Power-Up.
Once you’ve done all of that, you need to pick up any available chest to get the evolution. This is the case for all weapon evolutions.
Unlock Lucia in Vampire Survivors
You can unlock Lucia the same way as the previous characters: Evolve the Spread Shot. Rank up Ariana’s Spread Shot to level eight, get a level eight Empty Tome, and then grab a Weapon Power-Up. Now you have Lucia; all you have to do now is survive as her for 15 minutes on Neo Galuga to unlock the Hectic Highway secret stage.Â
How to find the Coffin in the Hectic Highway stage
You can find the Coffin the same way you found Bill on Neo Galuga. Open the map and look for a white question mark icon. Head to the marker, as it reveals the exact location of the Coffin.
I know you’re eager to get there, but I recommend taking your time to level up first. It’s always worth securing some decent weapons and passive items before exploring, or you’ll quickly fall behind in damage.
There’s an impressive arsenal of new weapons in the Operation Guns DLC, and they are all unlocked by surviving with their respective owners. It’ll take a while to obtain everything, but it’s well worth it in the long run.
How to unlock Hyper Hectic Highway
The only way to unlock Hyper Hectic Highway is to evolve C-U-Laser. You unlock the C-U-Laser weapon by surviving 15 minutes with Lucia, which you need to do to unlock Hectic Highway.
With that done, you evolve C-U-Laser by getting it to level eight, getting in Tirajisú to level eight, and picking up a Weapon Power-Up. With all of that done, you can work toward unlocking Sheena.
