How to evolve the Long Gun in Vampire Survivors to unlock Lance Bean

In Vampire Survivors Operation Guns, Lance is unlocked by evolving the Long Gun into Prototype A. Once you’ve unlocked the achievement, Lance becomes purchasable on the character select screen for 900 gold.

The Long Gun is the signature weapon of Lance’s buddy, Bill Rizer. You can unlock the weapon for all characters by surviving for fifteen minutes as Bill in Neo Galuga. I highly recommend you do this because evolving the Long Gun is much harder if you don’t have it unlocked. This is because a weapon won’t appear as a level-up option if it’s not unlocked, even if you’re using it as a base weapon.

What is the Long Gun evolution in Vampire Survivors?

To evolve the Long Gun in Vampire Survivors, raise it to level eight and pick up a Weapon Power-Up. As always, you’ll need to open a chest to evolve the weapon once the requirements are met.

Weapon Power-Ups are the metal briefcases scattered around Neo Galuga. They are also available as very rare level-up options when playing as any of the twelve Contra characters. It’s far easier to jump into Neo Galuga and use the Milky Way Map to find their exact locations, though.

The evolution of Long Gun is called Prototype A, and it calls in two drones for “support fire.” It’s a ton of fun to watch as it explodes enemies from above. If you only care about using Lance, you can safely exit once you’ve acquired Prototype A and spend your hard-earned gold to use him.

Should I play as Lance in Vampire Survivors?

Lance doesn’t agree with the sentiment that size matters and uses the Short Gun. You’ll need this weapon to unlock Ariana and other Contra characters in Operation Guns, so I recommend playing with the blue-haired bulldozer in your next run.

If you’re hungry for even more Contra characters to unlock, Vampire Survivors: Operation Guns’ secret stage has a cool character waiting to be discovered that will make you totally wolf out.
