In his last blog for Ever Quest, developer Clint Worley revealed that a server with a new ruleset is being prepared for EQ players.

Players on this new server will be able to create level 50 characters, allowing immediate access to higher end content. The decision for this was made by an in-game voting system set up by SoE.
“We are pleased to see everyone cast their votes and can honestly say that we are very excited to see this server roll out to the EQ community. We are starting the work on getting the backend setup and ready to go, and will announce the details soon.”
