Let’s talk about how to actually solve the Secrets of Creation Heart of Mystery puzzle in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.

Laughing Caves

To be clear, the objects needed for the Secrets of Creation Heart of Mystery puzzle in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous are found in a different area. Specifically, you’ll want to look for the Laughing Caves, a small dungeon in the southwestern portion of the world map (close to the Wounded Lands label). This place can only be visited in Act 5, so you’ve got a long road ahead of you.

Inside the cave system, you’ll battle a few demon mobs. There’s a bunch of loot for you to pick up as well. The most important items here are inside a chest. These are the 12 containers that have mana/blue liquid. Once you have it, make your way to the Heart of Mystery.

Puzzle Logic: How to Solve the Puzzle

First, don’t forget to check the tunnel that connects to this area. It contains a Nameless Ruins Mask, required for Nenio’s More Than Nothing quest. Acquiring all four masks lets you enter the Enigma dungeon. In fact, that location is quite important in case you want to solve the puzzle on your own, as it contains certain clues regarding the symbols (seen in the image below).

Knowing that info, you’ll find out that each symbol has a corresponding number. In a way, you’ll want to think of the whole thing as a grid-like diagram:

• The symbols/numbers close to the puzzle’s edge represent how many blue squares need to fill that row or column. You’ll want to add the numbers that line up to find out how many you need.
• The containers you have are one-thirds full, two-thirds full, or completely full of blue liquid – i.e., they are the blue squares that should appear grouped per row or column.

Here’s a series of examples:

• If you look at the topmost row, you’ll notice that you need three blue symbols. If you try to place any water container in the leftmost vertical niche, you’ll see that the blue square is always at the top corner. That means the horizontal niche should have a two-thirds full container.
• Next, check the leftmost column. There are a couple of vertical niches and a fragment for a horizontal one. But, this whole column only needs three blue squares:
  • Top-left – Already known to have one blue.
  • Bottom-left – If you place any container, the blue will always be to the left.
  • Mid-left – That means the last remaining niche should have a one-third full container.

• Now would be a good time to recheck some of the rows and columns with no matching number in the opposite side.  For instance, the second row and the third column already tell you that blue parts need to be there.
• From this point onward, you’re essentially doing a bit of trial and error, all while crossing out the squares that don’t need a blue part.

Go ahead and enter the secret chamber. There, you’ll encounter a hologram of Areshkagal. There are some dialogue checks here to prove that you’re worthy. Likewise, you can present the Mask of Nothing to show that you’ve been chosen by Areshkagal himself.

If you decide to simply wait, Nenio will remark that the hologram has malfunctioned. You’ll then receive the Mask of the Most Worthy as a reward.
