When is the next Destiny 2 TWID? January date and time, explained

'Twhen is the next TWID?

It’s been unusually quiet in Destiny 2 for several weeks now and that’s because we haven’t received a new TWID, or This Week In Destiny, from Bungie. Here’s when you can expect the next Destiny 2 TWID from Bungie.

Destiny 2 January TWID release date and time

The next TWID will come on Thursday, January 18, 2024. In my experience, the time of TWIDs isn’t as consistent as something like the weekly reset, but count on it arriving sometime around noon PT, give or take.

It was very easy to miss. I missed it upon first inspection, but Bungie stated at the very bottom of their last TWID of 2023 on December 14 that the next TWID would be on January 18. This is how we know for sure that we’ll get our next scoop of Destiny 2 info via TWID on January 18.

TWIDs used to be called TWABs, This Week At Bungie, which was changed because Bungie is now working on Marathon so they have multiple games under their belt. Regardless, TWIDs are important to Destiny 2 players because it’s where we learn, directly from Bungie, what is in store.

They include upcoming changes, events, and expansions. Though we are in a bit of a dry spell while we wait for Destiny 2 The Final Shape to release, the upcoming TWID will likely shed more light on what we can expect for 2024.

In February, we are getting Moments of Triumph which are weekly missions called Wishes. In March, we are getting Guardian Games. From April to May, we will get Into the Light which is what we’re waiting for more information on. All we know about it currently is that it’ll be a time for us to prepare before getting into The Final Shape.

There are reasons to be worried about Destiny 2 in 2024, but I’m excited to experience The Final Shape and see the epic conclusion to the Light and Dark Saga. If you’re equally excited, then you should take the time now to collect all the best Destiny 2 Dungeon Exotics.
