Many video games nowadays entice players to come back for another playthrough with New Game Plus. But does Spiderman 2 have a New Game Plus mode?
New Game Plus allows you to play through the game a second time, usually with all the skills, levels, and unlockables you accrued in your first run. We’ll answer whether Spiderman 2 has this mode or not.
Is Spiderman 2 getting a New Game Plus mode?
Luckily, Spiderman 2 officially has a New Game Plus mode from the new update released on March 7! On launch, Spider-Man 2 did not come with a New Game Plus mode, but five months later Insomniac delivered us a huge update to include it.
2018’s Spiderman also didn’t release with New Game Plus, so it’s no surprise to see the sequel’s NG+ mode arrive later than usual. But now with NG+ available for Spider-Man 2, you can access a bevy of new content.
All Spider-Man 2 New Game Plus features
As described in the version Version 1.002.000 patch notes, Insomniac has allowed players to unlock and experience brand new features during a NG+ run:
- Ultimate Levels: Go beyond the base game level cap
- Symbiote Suit Styles: Unlock via Ultimate Level progression
- Golden Gadget Styles: Upgrade gadgets to have Golden looks
- Suit Tech Fusion: Unlock both perks in a shared Suit Tech slot
- PlayStation Trophy: Unlock a new trophy for completing the NG+ story
How to start NG+ in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
The only requirement for starting a New Game Plus run in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is to complete the main campaign. Once you do this, you’ll be able to start a NG+ save file from the main menu.
You should see a pop-up detailing the new features available with NG+. If you don’t see this, don’t worry, you probably haven’t updated your game to the most recent version. You can then create a new game and make it New Game Plus instead of a normal save file.
There were plenty of other updates that came along with Version 1.002.000, such as the ability to change the time of day.
