While you’re swinging through New York City in Spiderman 2, do you ever wonder if you can change the time of day? Depending on which mission you’re playing on, the time of day will shift.
But how can you change it yourself? We’ll give you some answers as to whether this is a possibility in Spiderman 2.
How to change the time of day in Spiderman 2
As much as I wish I had a positive answer, sadly, it seems you can’t change the time of day in Spiderman 2. Interestingly, in the first Spiderman game, you were able to unlock this ability after completing the main campaign.
Since it was a feature in the first installment, I wouldn’t be too surprised to see this arrive in a later update. I’d be even more surprised if this never came in an update. Although the time of day changes throughout the game depending on your current mission, you can’t change it any further than that.
Once you complete the main campaign, you’re stuck with playing the game in normal afternoon daylight. This can be frustrating for players who like to swing and fly with the Web Wings at night. The city feels very different depending on the time, so it’s disappointing to not see this as a feature yet.
But since New Game Plus is also coming in a future update, there’s a chance that it’ll arrive alongside the ability to change the time of day. You’ll probably unlock it after completing Spiderman 2’s main campaign, just like the first game. This is all just speculation, but it’s very likely.
Fortunately, if you’re a Photo Mode lover, there’s a small way to change the sun’s position in the sky. Head into Lighting Mode in Photo Mode by pressing Square, then go to Natural Light and turn on customization. You can then change the sun’s elevation, rotation, and intensity. You can’t exactly make it go from day to night, but it’s still a little bit of an alteration for photos.
