Block party: MineCon 2011 tickets go on sale

For an initial price of $99 USD, a precious Minecraft convention ticket can be yours.
“MineCon 2011” will take place in sunny, sinful Las Vegas from 18-19 November at the Mandalay Bay Casino. 18 November is, of course, Minecraft’s official release date (before now, it’s been in beta form) and the event will feature all manner of launch festivities (booze).
There will also be keynote speeches from people like creator Markus “Notch” Persson, build contests, costume contests (bring your best cardboard box) and exhibits by “leading gaming and Minecraft related companies”.
As mentioned, tickets are $99 USD at present, but will cost $139 USD from 1 October onwards. So get in early if you want to rock the block(s).
