Caw blimey: Pigeon dating game Hatoful Boyfriend in Groupees bundle

hatoful boyfriend

I wasn’t kidding.

Long-time readers of the site/listeners to the podcast will probably remember me mentioning Hatoful Boyfriend, a Japanese dating game in which you play a young human girl in a world ruled by birds. Mostly pigeons. And, in your pigeon-filled school, you try to find love. It is as bizarre and excellent as it sounds, even if it seems someone took the phrase “hot birds” a bit too literally.

If you thought to yourselves “Wow, I really want to try that but I can’t be arsed Googling for the official site”, you’re in luck! The latest Groupees bundle – Build a Doujin 2 – contains it. Hatoful Boyfriend can yours for a minimum of $1.50. That’s amazing.

That’s also not the only thing in the bundle, obviously: you’ll also get a smattering of shmups, like eXceed 2nd – Vampire Rex, eXceed 3rd – Jade Penetrate Black Page, Hellsinker, KAMUI, and the brand new ARMED SEVEN.

I suppose it’s worth mentioning that the bundle also contains the rather famous (and hopelessly fucked up) horror visual novel Higurashi When They Cry, better known to nerds like me as Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni. I’m assuming that what’s on offer here will just be the four Question arcs that sets up the mystery. And yes, okay, you might argue that this is slightly more important than Hatoful Boyfriend, but go away. Pigeon dating wins out every time.
