Successful applicants will receive a beta key today and can begin playing the beta version now. In this build, players can manage their economy by trading with each other and teaming up with nearby cities. This version is fully playable with all online elements fully implemented.

“We’re delighted to have reached this milestone in the development of Cities XL with the start of the Beta programme,” said Jerome Gastaldi, CEO of Monte Cristo, “We can’t wait to see how players interact with CITIES XL to create some amazing cities, and of course it will be an incredibly valuable testing time for the game itself.”

Monte Cristo released new images from the game yesterday, showing in-game aerial and street level views. Find out more about Cities XL in our earlier article.
