War of the Roses cultivates some new contents

Fatshark has outlined the first set of additional maps, modes and … err … man-manglers that will be added to multiplayer medieval murder-fest (ok, that’s enough M’s now) War of the Roses in the coming months. These extras will essentially be free, although to get the new weapons you’ll have needed to grind out enough game currency (which, naturally, you can also buy with real money).

November will see the first set of additions, which include seven new weapons (gothic mace, rondel dagger, halberd, Hospitaller pollaxe, horn spanned crossbow, new arming sword, and an Italian side sword) along with some Milanese Knights Hospitaller crafted Heavy Armor, a new helmet and four new visor choices.

This winter, you can look forward to a pair of new maps (inspired by the battles of Wakefield and Towton) which will add snow and sleet to the game. There’s also talk of a new ‘Pitched Battle’ mode.

War of the Roses is out now on PC.
