How to heal in Hades 2

There are a number of ways to heal in Hades 2, but some are more reliable than others. Some can be acquired before you enter, and other will have to be picked up along the way. A number of these will both heal and regain mana in Hades 2, so go for the double if possible.

Pre-game healing

If you’re struggling a bit with health in Hades 2, you should equip a few items before you head into battle. These will boost your health as you play, either at the end of each encounter or when you drop to zero.

  • Aracana—The handy cards can provide a huge boost to your health in the game. By equipping cards such as The Centaur, you will receive a boost to Health and Mana every five turns. Cards like The Titan will just give you an overall boost to health and Mana.
  • Keepsakes – These essential boosts will often give a health benefit to each playthrough. You can grab Keepsakes from the various NPCs in the game after gifting them Nectar. Ghost Onion, given by Dora, will heal you every time you leave an encounter, up to 50 a run in Hades 2.

In-game ways to heal

In-game, you can often pick up items that will give you the ability to heal in Hades 2

  • Chaos boons – the Chaos Boon, Addled Blood will award 10 healing when you finish an encounter. However, be aware of the penalty you will have to pay to enter Chaos and earn the Boon.
  • Gear—When you meet Arachne during your run-through, you may be lucky enough to find a dress that lets you heal in Hades 2. The Emerald Dress gives you 2 health every time you finish an encounter. Well, as long as you haven’t ruined it.
  • Centaur Hearts—These can be picked up from Charon, the ferryman, in his shop, or found as a reward for completing an encounter. Technically, they only raise your health by raising the overall amount, but hitpoints are hitpoints, right?

How to regain Mana in Hades 2

Mana is a core part of your skillset in Hades 2, and once it is all out, you’ll be rather hobbled. However, there are some ways to restore Mana in Hades 2.

Pre game mana

Before you go into your next run, you should equip some items that will give you the needed boost to your Mana gauge. These can both help you restore it, and give it a little extra in the tank.

  • Keepsakes – The various Keepsakes are a great way to keep getting a constant regen of your Mana in Hades 2. Picking up a Keepsakes, like Silver Wheel from Aphrodite, will constantly regain your Mana up to 1,000 points at the most basic level in Hades 2.
  • Arcana – Unlock and equip an Arcana such as The Centaur to regain three Mana every five encounters. These will keep a constant supply of Mana coming in. However, for me, The Unseen is one of the most helpful Arcana for restoring Mana in the game. It will constantly trickle more mana into your gauge every second.

In-game mana

There are many boons and pieces of gear you can pick up in-game that will help you restore your Mana in Hades 2. The real trick is keeping an eye out for ones that work with your build.

  • Boons—Many of the boons in Hades 2 will help you regenerate Mana for that particular playthrough. However, they often have a downside, so be careful what you choose. Apollos Lucid Gain is always a strong choice for me, as it will regain your Mana while standing in a cast.
  • Gear – In the game, you will often come across NPCs that can gift you items to help you with Mana regeneration. Arachne has an Azure Dress that will restore five Mana every second as long as it is still wearable. Couldn’t she make it from something just a little more durable?
