From my experience, the best Captain Boomerang build in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League focuses on Shotguns and Sniper Rifles and focuses on Shield Harvest and skills that boost close Critical Damage.

The playstyle of Captain Boomerang is to use your Speed Dashes often to close the gap between you and your enemies. Teleport behind and above enemies, drop a grenade, and blast them all with your Shotgun. Use your Afflictions, especially Ice and Crazed, and your Melee once each enemy has Shield Harvest to keep your shields high. When there is a large group of enemies, use Speedster’s Surprise, and when there’s one big enemy, use Suicide Strike.

The Talents you should take for Captain Boomerang to make the best build focus on Shotgun damage, Critical Damage, Speedster’s Surprise, and Shield Harvesting. Shield Harvesting in particular is extremely important in the endgame. In general, it’s hard to Shield Harvest enemies, and doing so is crucial to staying alive, which is why we’ll take every Shield Harvesting Talent we have access to.

- Hater Aid – Increase Shotgun damage by 10% for every enemy within 10 meters.

- Party Ain’t Over – Suicide Strike kills grant five Combo at 20 or higher Combo.
- Defense Mechanism – At 20 Combo, shield pickup is increased by 40%.
- High Gear – At 30 Combo, damage is increased by 25% if you have Shield Overcharge which won’t be hard to get.
- Afterparty – Increase your shield overcharge by 10% for every five combo above 30.
- Admiral Boomerang – Increase damage by 60% and damage reduction by 25% at 50 Combo.

- Flying Boomerang – Gain 20% damage reduction after using any Speed Force movement.
- Hoonin’ It – Increase Speed Force Sprint duration because that’s the main way we get around.
- Suped-Up Combo – Automatically get 10 Combo if you lose your Combo.

- Go for Broke – Counter Breaker is reduced by 25% so you lose your Combo less often.
- Aftershock – At 20 Combo, your Speedster’s Surprise deals 50% more damage.
- Speedster’s Sew-Up – Generate more Speedster’s Surprise as you use Speed Force Dash which you’ll be doing often.
- Slow-Mo Shootout – At 30 Combo, Critical Damage is increased by 50% to targets further than 10 meters and you get 25% more chance to Shield Harvest enemies within 10 meters.
- Squad Ultimate – Slow down time which is extremely useful to land Critical Hits and Shield Harvest.
- Speedster’s Ultimate Surprise – When the Squad Ultimate is active, your Speedster’s Surprise does 200% more damage.
Best Captain Boomerang Loadout in Suicide Squad KTJL
While you can play Captain Boomerang as a ranged assassin or a menace with an SMG, the Talent skill tree has the best buffs for Shotgun, and using a Sniper Rifle as your secondary is crucial to quickly eliminate enemies that are far away. The SMG and the Shotgun fulfill similar purposes, so go with the Shotgun for more damage.
You can use just about any synergy you like best, but since we’re in Season 0 and the Notorious and Infamy gear focus on the Crazed Affliction, I recommend equipping anything with the Crazed Affliction (the green one) synergy.
