Sword of a big deal...

In Fire Emblem Engage, Lapis joins your army relatively early in the campaign. That gives you plenty of time to power her up over the course of the remaining adventure. She can be a powerful ally, with the right attention. Here’s our guide to the best class and gifts for Lapis in Fire Emblem Engage.

Best class and gifts for Lapis in Fire Emblem Engage

Lapis is proficient with Sword weapons, and she also has good Defense and Speed ratings. You can go a few directions with those tendencies, but there’s no need to get super creative. Fire Emblem Engage already has characters that fit in a variety of more interesting categories. Sometimes, it’s useful to have a few basic warriors who do the duller jobs well.

To make the most of Lapis, utilize her skill with a sword and enhance her speed and defensive abilities. You want her to be able to wade into the middle of an enemy group and survive the encounter. Aim to make her a Swordmaster or a General.

Lapis is one of several characters in the game with Standby capabilities. Position her next to an enemy and she will contribute to chain attacks. This gift puts her on the front lines more often than not. Her ability to hastily avoid most enemy attacks (and to survive the ones that do land) is key. She likely will be a frequent target for enemy units.

When you pair her with Emblem rings, give her a lot of time with Marth to learn abilities such as Sword Agility 5, Avoid +30. The Perceptive+ ability is also helpful. It relies on Lapis to initiate the attack, however, as does Lyn’s otherwise useful Perceptive+ ability. Once she has inherited and activated desired skills those Emblems teach, follow up by pairing her with Lucina to double down on her strengths as a Backup fighter.

Lapis likes gifts that celebrate her strength. These include Training Weights, Muscle Balm, Bear Carving, Utility Knife, and the Sharp Chisel. Roasted Yam also plays well, along with Sheep Wool and Sewing Kit. Finer goods are better saved for someone else.
