Best VEL 46 Loadout for Warzone 2 DMZ Season 3

The close-combat king

The Vel 46 has been a solid choice of SMG since Warzone 2’s inception, and best of all, it’s available from the start. This weapon is so powerful it actually received a nerf in Season 3. But make no mistake. This pocket-sized powerhouse is as dangerous as ever and remains a potent SMG. With this in mind, let me show you the best VEL 46 Loadout for Warzone 2 DMZ Season 3.

VEL 46 Attachments

  • Laser – VLK LZR 7MW
  • Stock – Demo RXT Stock
  • Rear Grip – ZLR Combat Grip
  • Barrel – Tango 228 Barrel
  • Magazine – 50 Round Magazine

Equipment

  • Lethal – Throwing Knife
  • Tactical – Smoke Grenade

Suggested Perks

  • Overkill
  • Fast Hands
  • High Alert
  • Tracker

The VEL 46 is a monster up close, and these attachments help the weapon shine in this environment. The Laser gives extra ADS and Sprint to Fire speed as well as a buff to Aiming Stability. These are great for aggressive play; just keep in mind your Laser is quite visible.

The Stock gives us more ADS and Sprint speed. It also provides additional Crouch Movement speed, which can be helpful to throw your opponents off in a gunfight. The Rear Grip helps us tame the VEL 46’s recoil as it kicks pretty hard. The hefty recoil is why I recommend a 50 Round Magazine. Unless you have a very steady hand, you’ll appreciate those extra bullets.

Finally, the Tango 228 Barrel gives us more damage range, bullet velocity, and improved accuracy when firing from the hip. These are great quality-of-life stats, even if they don’t increase our ADS speed.

Are there any flex slots on this build?

This VEL 46 Loadout for Warzone 2 Season 3 feels incredibly snappy in close-range engagements, and tinkering with the attachments can negatively affect that. The Laser, Stock, and Rear Grip are mandatory, but you can play around with the other parts.

The 50 Round Magazine helps against multiple targets, but you can do without it if you’re a confident player. I find 40 rounds just isn’t enough as the VEL 46 can spit out an entire magazine in seconds, but feel free to experiment here.

Your equipment slots and perks are absolutely a personal preference. I swear by Smoke Grenades in Warzone 2 and have them in almost every class, as they allow me to disengage if necessary. The Throwing Knife is less useful in DMZ, but nothing beats it for deleting downed opponents.

Perks are also interchangeable. Overkill is good because you can bring a mid or long-range weapon to complement your SMG.

How did the VEL 46 get nerfed in Warzone 2 Season 3?

Season 3 brought a host of nerfs to Call of Duty: Warzone 2’s most popular weapons. Fortunately, the VEL 46 escaped with a minor slap on the wrist and a reduction to its Headshot Damage. It’s not all bad. The VEL 46 also received a couple of buffs with a reduced handling penalty when using larger magazines. This change, in particular, makes the extended magazines more viable.
