These nests appear in the late game of Spider-Man 2 after the mission called Set Things Right. Once you get passed this mission, you can take down five nests. Five more nests unlock after beating the It’s All Connected mission. In total, you’ll have to deal with ten nests.

The objective of these nests is that you need to trigger a Sonic Burst to destroy the hearts in the nest. While the Sonic Burst gets ready, hordes of enemies will appear trying to go after the heart. Your job is to protect these hearts until the timer runs out. Most of these nests are pretty simple with what you have to do. Others might not be straightforward such as having two hearts, or they disappear and reappear elsewhere.

So let’s go over some strategies you can use to defeat the nests in no time

Best ways to beat the nests

  • Use AOE gadgets: Since there might seem like an infinite amount of enemies dropping in on you, it’s best to start control as soon as possible. By using the Web Grabber of Concussion Blast, you can keep enemies away from you and the heart. You can at some point stun with these gadgets, so as long as you’re doing that and attacking at the same time, you won’t need to fight as hard. Just make sure to time the use of these gadgets.
  • Stay in the air: Some nests might have more than one heart, and staying in the air allows you to navigate and defend both hearts at the same time. On top of that, if you’re in the air and pull enemies towards you, they can’t attack back. This can alleviate the pressure tenfold and keep you from getting hit. It also helps to dodge attacks this way as well.
  • Keep your Focus up: The more you have, the more health you can bring back and the more finishers you can execute. If you have the upgrade that gives out Focus when parrying, then maintaining this mechanic is easy. Having Focus topped up allows you get stay alive longer and get through enemies easiest. It’s a great way for your combo to last longer than normal. However, even if you have more than one Focus bar, keep an eye on regenerating. You’ll be able to time its use better.
  • Don’t overdo the spider abilities: While with upgrades they can come back faster, but what happens when you need them and they’re not ready? Using abilities might be a good get-out-of-jail card, but use them only when you’re being overpowered. You have four abilities, and if you use all of them close to each other, things might not go in your favor. Not every situation calls for the abilities, so I would use my gadgets first and then tap into abilities if that doesn’t make a dent.
