In Palworld, most of the equipment you unlock will be through the Technology Tree. However, Schematics offer a way to build more advanced gear, as well as gear you can’t unlock conventionally.
The best way to get Schematics in Palworld
Schematics in Palworld can be found in two ways, but the best by far is by clearing out dungeons. Dungeons can be found by traveling into what looks like open caves. Before you can go in, you’ll be told about the level of the boss that awaits you at the end. For farming Schematics, you may want to try out lower-level ones to get you started, although you’ll find better Schematics in harder dungeons.
Once you’ve beat the boss of that dungeon, you’ll be able to advance into a treasure room of sorts, where two chests will await you. At least one Schematic will be gained alongside a litany of other rewards. Although note that repeat Schematics can be awarded.
Once you’ve beat a dungeon, you can re-enter it, but the boss will remain dead, and the treasure claimed. Although you won’t have any agency over which Schematics you gain, it’s often the quickest way to get them.

Alternate way to get Schematics in Palworld
If you want a little more control over the Schematics you gain in Palworld, then search for Wandering Merchants. They’ll either be found wandering around Palworld or can be found in settlements — although they don’t often sell Schematics relating to better quality gear and lean more toward selling cosmetic items.

This isn’t necessarily a negative, but if you’re looking to get better equipment, then you may have to stick to dungeon-delving.
Using Schematics in Palworld
With your Schematics, you can head over to the Workbench that is detailed in the Schematic’s description and build it. Note that it needs to be in your inventory for it to appear to craft it.
Find the necessary ingredients, build it, and it’ll be yours to keep. Stash the Schematic somewhere safe for later use if necessary.
Better quality gear will often require Ancient Civilization Parts, which are gained from beating Dungeon bosses, so if you’ve been farming Schematics, then you shouldn’t be in a scarcity. They can also be gained from Lucky Pals.
