Honkai: Star Rail features a great roster of playable characters that you can use to create many different team comps. In Version 1.4, Honkai Star Rail will introduce us to Jingliu, Former Sword Champion of the Luofu and “the creator of the Cloud Knights’ legends of undefeated might.” Jingliu is a long-teased character and is set to be a powerful Ice Destruction character and your team’s next premier main DPS. Jingliu’s Destruction properties has her drawing HP from her allies, which can be used to amplify her damage. Jingliu is an Ice Destruction character that steals her allies’ HP. When Jingliu uses her Skill or Ultimate, she will gain a stack of “Syzygy.” When she has two stacks, she will enter a special form, the Spectral Transmigration state, that will deal more damage after draining her allies’ HP. This can create some discourse within your team, as this is a rather dangerous way to amplify damage. However, there are still characters that will synergize well with Jingliu. Here are some characters that work well with Jingliu:

  • Blade: Blade is another 5-star Wind Destruction character that deals more damage after losing HP. More specifically, Blade will initiate a strong follow-up attack after losing HP five times. Additionally, Blade does not consume many skill points, allowing you to run him alongside another DPS character. This can create an interesting duel-DPS team comp with Jingliu and Blade, especially as Jingliu also is quite forgiving with her skill point usage.
  • Bailu: Bailu is one of Jingliu’s preferred healers, as her high HP pool allows Jingliu to freely steal from Bailu’s HP to amplify her own damage. Jingliu deals more damage the more HP she steals, so you might find it better to pair Jingliu with HP-scaling healers. Granted, Luocha is still bound to be a good pick, as his high teamwide healing can definitely keep up with Jingliu’s health-sapping tendencies. Additionally, Luocha has the advantage of generating tons of skill points, more useful if you are running duo-DPS carries.
  • Tingyun: Tingyun is generally a strong support for any DPS character, but her Burst is particularly strong for Jingliu as it can help her generate more Syzygy stacks. The more Jingliu bursts, the more stacks she gains. Bronya is also a good support pick if you are running a team that can generate high skill points, as her Crit DMG buff will generate nicely with the passive 55% Crit Rate Jingliu receives in her Spectral Transmigration state.

With these tips in mind, here are some example teams for you to try out:

  • Jingliu / Blade / Bronya / Luocha
  • Jingliu / Bailu / Tingyun / Bronya
  • Jingliu / Gepard / Tingyun / Pela
