How to battle 24 enemies in the Grasslands in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Unlocking Grasslands Region Intel: Level 2 is a pain.

While most of Chadley’s Combat Simulator trials are fairly easy to unlock in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, some of them can be a pain. If you aren’t paying attention to enemy types and making sure to Assess every foe you encounter, then you’ll find yourself wandering around the game’s massive open world in search of one or two enemy types so you can gain access to new Combat Simulator missions.

To unlock Grasslands Region Intel: Level 2 in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you need to battle 24 enemies in the Grasslands region. The Grasslands region is home to several enemy types, but you won’t be able to find them all just by walking around the overworld.

To unlock Grasslands Region Intel: Level 2, you only need to defeat 24 different enemy types in the Grasslands. There’s no need to Assess them (although you’ll want to do that to unlock another Grasslands Intel mission).

There are 25 different enemy types in the Grasslands region of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, so you need to defeat nearly all of them to unlock this Combat Simulator mission. That also means completing every Fiend Intel mission, the first Phenomenon Intel mission, and most of the region’s side quests since there are unique enemy types that only appear in special circumstances.

If you find yourself missing some of the more common enemies in the Grasslands, then talk to Chadley and take on some of the Grasslands Intel challenges that you already have unlocked. These will pit you against multiple waves of enemies native to the Grasslands region, and they’re a great way to round out your collection and cover any blind spots that you have on your creature list.

This is one of the most frustrating aspects of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s open world, so make sure to do as many side quests as possible and always have an Assess Materia equipped so you’ll never hit another roadblock when gathering data for Chadley. As annoying as he can be, the kid comes in handy sometimes. Without him, you wouldn’t be able to find Titan Summon Crystals and unlock new Summons, after all.
