How to beat Frox in Tears of the Kingdom

Ribbit.

Out of the many dangers you can find in the Chasms of Hyrule, Frox is one of them. In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, not only can you explore the sky islands, but you can also dive into the depths of the underground Chasms. At some point during your explorations, you’ll probably run into a giant toad monster named Frox. If or whenever you come across this gigantic frog in the Chasms, there are a few things to note about its combat style. One of Frox’s moves has him leap into the air and slam down toward you. You can easily dodge this just by running the opposite way, since the slam radius isn’t that far. Also, Frox will try to suck you in with a gust of wind, chew you, and spit you out.

To avoid this, have him swallow something, preferably something that can hurt him. Personally, I always sent an arrow Fused with a Bomb Flower into his gullet, which then exploded from the inside. This would then stun him, making him vulnerable to attacks.

Another way to stun him is by shooting him in the eye. The easiest way to do this is by Fusing a Keese Eyeball onto your arrow for a perfect shot.

But what attacks actually hurt Frox? If you manage to get on top of his back, best when stunned, hit the Zonaite rocks. Destroying the rocks will hurt his health, and as soon as you destroy all of them, that’s when you defeat Frox. You can also try to fly up and jump on his back, but if Frox isn’t stunned, he can throw you off.

Once he’s down, Frox will drop a Frox Fang, which has a level 14 Fuse Attack Power. Save this for a nice weapon to fuse it to!
