How to eat and feed Pals in Palworld

It's not chocolate, but it's a start

Palworld may be a whimsical, fantasy place, but you can’t enjoy it on an empty stomach. You and your Pals will be pretty miserable if you’re hungry, so let me show you how to eat and feed Pals in Palworld.

Any item that can be eaten will have a blue Consumable tag next to it in your Inventory. Right-click (or press Square/X on a controller) on the food item, and a menu will pop up showing your character and any Pals you’re carrying. Use the food on yourself and any hungry Pals to replenish your Hunger meters.

You can find food all over the place in Palworld. The most readily available food source is Berries, typically found in bushes.

How to cook food on the Campfire

You can build the Campfire Structure with ten pieces of wood when your base reaches level 2. Interact with the Campfire, and it will show any available recipes. Pick one, and hold the displayed button to cook the food.

You can eat raw berries, but they restore much more of your hunger meter when cooked. Some Pals drop meat when they die, which can only be eaten after it’s been on the Campfire.

How to feed Pals in Palworld

Pals can be a little finicky with food. You can feed the Pals you’re carrying the same way you feed yourself as they appear in the same menu. I’ve noticed that your active Pal’s hunger depletes similarly to your own, but others decrease much more slowly. I usually keep a small supply of baked berries on me if I need a top-up while exploring.

You can feed your resident Pals by building a Feed Box, which unlocks at base level 4. The Feed Box works like a storage container, and your Pals will help themselves to whatever you put inside when they are hungry. If you’re lucky enough to find Foxparks near your base, they are fantastic for food management, as they help you cook. These Pals also double as a great offensive partner for reasons I won’t spoil here. Trust me, give them a go.
