Gathering resources is going to be one of the primary objectives early on in your journey in ARK Survival Ascended.
Fiber is one of the most vital materials players will be able to gather early on, so we’re going to explain where to find it.
ARK Survival Ascended: How To Get Fiber
As noted above, Fiber is a core material in any ARK title and will be one of the building blocks for certain items within the game. It’s a vital ingredient in a wide array of crafting materials such as explosives, Slingshots, Spears, and more.
An easy way to obtain this material is to just run around the tall grass and pick it with your hands, and it’s perhaps the most efficient method players will deploy early on within ARK.

You’ll notice that grass and foliage are some of the main terrain points players will see when they first spawn into an ARK save, and just running over it a few times will be good enough.
I suggest looking for small flora. By pressing “E” while standing over a small plant, you’ll scavenge berries and fiber. This is one of the primary ways you get fiber in Ark Survival Ascended.
Other ways to obtain Fiber function similarly. You can use a Metal Sickle once you reach level 30, or use one of a handful of dinosaurs you have tamed.
Dinosaurs that will be effective at this include the following:
- Moschops
- Gigantopithecus
- Dire Bear
- Therizinosaur
Best Locations To Find Fiber in ARK Survival Ascended
It all depends on where you spawn at first, as most locations on the ARK Island map are going to have several patches of land for snagging Fiber.
However, players will quickly find that Fiber is all over the place, and it shouldn’t be too hard to locate. It’ll all just come down to whether or not players have the proper inventory space to store it and the gear to acquire it.
