Using the Ghastly Reins will unlock the Spectral Charger for you whenever you unlock Mounts. Wondering when you can get your Mount? Well, we have a guide on when in the story you can use Mounts. Otherwise, you can receive the Ghastly Reins at any point in the game. I personally got these Reins without even trying before I could access Mounts.

The Ghastly Reins is a random item drop from different World Events, like Legion Events. Are you ever playing Diablo 4, and notice an icon on your map for an event that any player can join? During these events, there is a small chance that you can receive a Ghastly Reins item.

Players online realized that how you get the ghost horse Mount in Diablo 4 could have to do with completing the Kor Dragan Stronghold. This is because once completed, it can occasionally trigger a Gathering Legion Zone Event. If you finish this event, there’s a chance that one of the chests you receive as a reward can contain the Ghastly Reins.

I don’t remember the exact moment I found the Ghastly Reins, but I’ll tell you that I hadn’t done the Kor Dragan Stronghold yet. I’ve yet to complete that Stronghold, and I was still able somehow get this Spectral Charger in a World Event. While you’re more than welcome to try this method out to increase your chances of getting the Ghastly Reins, you can still find it through other World Events.

Once you receive the Ghastly Reins, press ‘right-click’ to use them, which will bring it into your Mount inventory. Speak to any Stable Master to change your Mount’s look. It’s a blue-ish spectral ghost horse that looks haunting when you’re riding it.
