Diablo 4 Season 1: Where to get Malignant Invokers

Malignant Invokers are a new type of consumable that allows you to prioritize which type of Caged Hearts you’re looking to farm. How you get Malignant Invokers in Diablo 4 Season 1 is by crafting them, or from enemy drops.

You’ll first need to start the Season of the Malignant questline to get yourself some Malignant Invokers. Either wait for enemies to drop some or craft them yourself at Cormond’s Workbench. During this three-month-long Season event, you can farm up to 32 different Caged Hearts. Out of those 32 are four different types of Caged Hearts.

  • Vicious Heart: Orange, offensive power
  • Brutal Heart: Blue, defensive power
  • Devious Heart: Pink, utility power
  • Wrathful Heart: Black, super power

After getting a Caged Heart or two from Malignant Tunnels, you can slot them into jewelry Sockets for some extra abilities and armor. If you’re itching for a specific type of Malignant Heart—which you convert into a Caged Heart—use a Malignant Invoker when farming. But how exactly do you use an Invoker?

  1. Enter a Malignant Tunnel matching your Malignant Invoker type
  2. Complete the Dungeon after killing all enemies and boss
  3. Follow new path in the Dungeon that leads to Malignant Outgrowths
  4. Interact with Malignant Outgrowth that correlates with your same type of Malignant Invoker
  5. Defeat the boss that spawns and take the Caged Heart

Sadly, you have to wait until you finish the Malignant Tunnel even to get to the Outgrowths. You’ll quickly notice a new tunnel entrance towards the designated area. After you interact with an Outgrowth of the same type as your Invoker, it will automatically consume it.
