Season 4 of Diablo 4 looks great, and this is shown through the Public Test Realm happening right now. One of the newest additions to the game is Masterworking, a late-game crafting system that can immensely improve your character.
To use Masterworking in Diablo 4, you must first acquire Mastworking Materials. Read further to learn how.
Diablo 4: Where to find Masterworking Materials
Players can obtain Masterworking Materials by participating in The Pit, a new location to Diablo 4 PTR. After entering The Pit and making it to the boss stage of the area, players will be rewarded with Masterworking Materials if they defeat the boss before the timer runs out.
If the Mastery timer expires before you finish running through the pit and defeating the boss, you will still receive loot but won’t receive any Masterworking Materials.
It’s important to note that dying will reduce the timer by a certain amount, making it tougher to complete The Pit within the time limit. For example, the first death will result in a deduction of 30 seconds, the second death will deduct 60 seconds, and the third (and all deaths after that) will deduct 90 seconds from the timer. As you can see, dying can be a deal breaker in whether you receive Masterworking Materials or not.
What is Masterworking in Diablo 4?
Masterworking is a new crafting system designed for the late game of Diablo 4 that can increase the value of affixes. According to the official Blizzard Blog, there are 12 upgrade ranks associated with the Masterworking system, and every four ranks a single affix will get massively upgraded. All other ranks slightly increase the value of affixes.
