Quirks developed by your car can be a real nightmare; figuring out how to fix them is even worse. Thankfully, in Pacific Drive, you have the Tinker Station and a number of guesses to work those quirks out before you head back out again. However, those guesses are limited.
Refresh your guesses at the TInker Station
Once you have used your 8 guesses at the tinker station, that’s it. You have to head out into the Stalker-esque wastes of Pacific Drive with whatever the quirk happens to be. To get more guesses once your 8 are up, you must make a new journey. Once you return, you will have another 8. By that time, you will have had an awful long time to get to know the quirk inside and out, too.
Simply head back out and return to refresh your guesses at the Tinker Station. The journey will no doubt highlight the issue even more, too. I have had multiple problems on my journeys with my doors and radio. They’re infuriating if they’re not fixed. I have had a quirk in which my passenger door would open every time I put the car in park too many times.
How to work out quirks
If you notice something going wrong with your car, such as the lights turning off or the door opening, head to the Tinker Station. The best thing to do is sit in your car in the garage and play around with all the knobs, toggles, doors, and levers to see if you can recreate the problem. Hopefully, one of these will be the issue.
Once you think you know what the problem is, head to the station. Here you must punch in the issue, starting with the cause and ending with the effect. For instance: Battery – Low – Headlights – Stay Off. You can then press to confirm that you think this is the quirk. The Tinker Station will tell you how many of your guesses are right. If you have one of the four options right, 1/4 will show. Keep trying until you nail it.
Once you have guessed the cause of the quirk, you will have one guess given back. You can not check to see what the solution is. Gather the necessary resources for the solution, and the Tinker Station will solve your problem, allowing you to start making more guesses on the endless list of quirks.
