Enshrouded: How to get Nitrate
Getting Nitrate in Enshrouded is signing you up for some explosive crafting. As its description says, it is an alchemical acid that you will use to create explosive substances that will help you out across your journey in Embervale. However, if you are just starting up your adventure, you might not have the need or the means to craft this material.
You see, first off, you will need to unlock the Alchemist and then the Alchemist Lab, which won’t happen until you venture into the Nomad Highlands, later in the game. So, if you have only unlocked the Blacksmith or Hunter, there’s a long way to go. Just follow up on the main missions until you get to unlock the lab and you’ll be all set.
The deeper you dive into Enshrouded, the more areas you will discover, meaning that more rare resources will become available for you to collect. That is exactly why this will take a while to discover since you can’t find the resources that make up Nitrate at the starting areas of Enshrouded. Nevertheless, if you want to be ready when the time comes or you are ready to craft it, here are all the materials you need to craft Nitrate in Enshouded and where to get them.
Nitrate Recipe in Enshrouded
- Sand: a late-game material, Sand can be found across the Kindlewastes region.
- Salt: mined from Salt Mines. Visit Egerton Mine Salts, a very early mine that is west of the Springlands Ancient Spire.
- Wood Acid: craftable at the Charcoal Kiln, one of the Blacksmith’s structures. You will need 15 Wood Logs and 3 Dirt. Chop some wood and use the pickaxe on the floor to get both materials.
- Alchemical Base: crafted at the Alchemy Station, you will need 1 Mycelium, found in Elixir Wells and shrouded areas, 1 Shroud Liquid, interact with big mushrooms in shrouded areas, 1 Water, scoop some at Wells, and 1 Shroud Spore, kill enemies in shrouded areas.

You will pretty much have to complete all of the Alchemist quests to unlock the Alchemist Laboratory. Be patient and you will get your precious Nitrate in your hands soon. Just beware of the explosive aspect of this recipe.
