Ark Survival Ascended is advertised on Steam as having split screen. This would be perfect for anyone who is still a fan of the timeless couch co-op mode of play. Is it possible on Xbox, PC, and PS5?

Sadly, despite being advertised as having the feature, it is actually not possible to play Ark Survival Ascenced split screen at all. This has caused some contention between players, further dropping their scores across the board.
It is a shame that they have advertised and still advertise the game as having split screen available. I know a lot of players would love to be able to play in the same room as their friends or families. Personally, I was surprised to see it being sold as having split screen because I know how taxing a game like Ark Survival Ascended can be on hardware.
Pushing the limits
More and more games are opting to do away with couch co-op as games become harder to run. With a game running split screen, the hardware has to essentially emulate two instances of the game. Usually, a game will be using pretty much the whole capabilities of the hardware just to run one instance. Ark Survival Ascended is certainly one of these, so running the game twice on one console or PC may well just melt your hardware.
Of course, the problem really lies with the fact that the game was clearly advertised as supporting split screen. This is misleading and may have led to some sales to disappointed customers. I doubt we will ever see split screen coming to Ark Survival Ascended.
How to play Ark Survival Ascended with friends
If you want to play Ark Survival Ascended co-op, your only option is to go out and get your own copy. You will have to use the online capabilities of the game. Then you can team up with mates and become king of the prehistoric jungle.
