How to Pressure both fire and ice-imbued enemies in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

How do you complete this Fiend Intel mission?

If you want to get all of the rewards from a Fiend Intel mission in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you’ll need to complete all of the optional objectives for Chadley. One Fiend Intel mission in particular —Fiend Intel 3: Keepers of the Burrow — is especially tricky.

This encounter pits you against a group of Mi, a rodent-like enemy that hides in burrows to avoid your attacks. They’re each imbued with different types of elemental energy, so you’ll need to counter their elements to Pressure them. It’s not that simple, though, so you’ll need to carefully time your attacks to succeed.

How to Pressure Fire and Ice-Imbued Enemies in FF7 Rebirth

To Pressure both fire and ice-imbued enemies in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you need to strike them with their elemental weaknesses. The fire-imbued enemies are weak to ice and vice versa. You can make use of spells like Fire and Blizzard to accomplish this, or you can use certain abilities like Snow Flurry or Wildfire to attack their weaknesses without spending MP.

Each of the Mi enemies will remain in their burrows throughout the battle until you Pressure them, so you’ll need to time your attacks to ensure they hit. This is especially true if you’re casting a spell like Blizzard, which has a longer cast time than Fire. Once you Pressure a Mi, however, it’ll be launched out of its burrow and become vulnerable to other types of attacks.

To fully complete this Fiend Intel mission, you need to Pressure one fire-imbued Mi and one ice-imbued Mi. There are more than two enemies on the field, but you don’t need to Pressure and Stagger them all. Just one of each will do. If you accidentally defeat all of them without fulfilling the optional criteria, you can restart the challenge by holding the Triangle button.

To make things easier for yourself, you should equip an Assess Materia on Cloud or any other party members that you always have in your party. This will let you scan enemies for weaknesses during battles and it only costs one ATB gauge to activate, so it’s an easy way to learn how to Pressure and Stagger enemies. You’ll also need to Assess most of the enemies in the game if you’re a completionist, too, so it’s a good idea to start early.
