How to upgrade your village level in LEGO Fortnite

More hands make light work!

In LEGO Fortnite, you’ll be doing much more than simply surviving and exploring. If you want to, you can also establish villages to get extra pairs of hands to help you out.

Village Levels in LEGO Fortnite

LEGO Fortnite allows you to build up villages and populate them with other villager NPCs. These villages are a great way to not only feel less alone but also get extra help. Villages can look as awesome as you want them to be, and the bigger you build them up, the better they’ll be able to help you out!

Each village can grow up to level ten with your input and house a maximum of five villagers. You can establish multiple villages, but each abide by those two maximums. To form a village, you must place a Village Square. The area surrounding that square will be allocated to the village.

At level one, when you first place the Village Square, you can only have one villager assigned, and village functionality will be next to none. However, by upgrading the village, you can house more villages — provided you have beds for them — and can get your villagers to do more tasks. It is important to have at least one populated and leveled village so you can acquire more resources much quicker.

You can’t place Village Squares too close to each other, but you can be creative with the placements of Village Squares and stations to simulate an integrated town — or even city.

Village Upgrades in LEGO Fortnite

To utilize those extra village functionalities in LEGO Fortnite, you’ll need to upgrade the village. You can do this by interacting with the Village Square and hopping over to the next menu — ‘Upgrade Village.’ There, you’ll see what you need to upgrade your village as well as what you’ll unlock.

Each upgrade will require resources as well as a high village rating. You can increase your village rating by simply building within the village zone. You can set up cabins, build furniture, use decoration — whatever you want. By simply building things in the zone, your village rating will increase. When the yellow bar reaches the next level, you can gather the resources and upgrade the village.

You can see what each upgrade will add in the ‘Village Hub’ section, so you know when you will unlock new villager slots to house more people.
