How to check Overwatch 2 server status

Checking the status of Overwatch 2 servers can be tricky. There’s nothing ingrained in the game or Battle.net to check on the servers, but there are other ways to do so. First off, before you continue reading, make sure that you have a solid internet connection. Sometimes even a restart of your PC or console can fix the issue. If nothing changes and you’re still not able to login to Overwatch 2, there are other avenues to check.

Blizzard customer support Twitter

Blizzard has a few Twitter accounts dedicated to customer support. This is where you can easily find answers to if the Overwatch 2 servers are down for everyone. If you live in the Americas, you’ll want to check out the account named @BlizzardCS. They have a few other accounts depending on where you live, such as @BlizzardCSEU_EN if you live in Europe,  or @BlizzardCS_KR if you live in Korea. Search on Twitter ‘Blizzard CS’ and see which account works best for your language and country.

On April 16 for example, Blizzard experienced a DDoS attack, which is a type of cyber-attack that can create connection issues to online servers. This is the tweet Blizzard sent out that day to let everyone know it’ll be fixed.

Downdetector

A website called ‘Downdetector‘ is available to check the servers for a plethora of games. If you go on this website and search for Overwatch 2, it’ll let you know if the game is currently having issues, and will show a graph dictating whether server problems were reported and when.

It only shows the last 24 hours, so make sure to check out this website as soon as you’re having connection issues. You can also comment on the game’s page on this website, and connect with other players who are having connection issues.

Overwatch forums

Sometimes the easiest way to get answers is by talking to other players with the same issues. Overwatch 2 has forums for technical support, alongside many other interesting topics. You can either read other people’s posts on server issues, or make a post yourself. Perhaps someone will reply to your question with some details on the situation.

Other than these three ways, if your Overwatch 2 game isn’t working, this is how you can check the server status. There isn’t much you can do if the servers aren’t fully functional, sadly. All you can do is wait for Blizzard to fix the problems before you jump back into a game!
