Is this the real Batman?

I was lucky enough to try out the game during one of its beta tests, and players got to check out the beginning of the story. If you purchased the digital deluxe edition, you’ll already be flying, jumping, or speed-dashing your way around Metropolis.

Because of this, we can confirm that Suicide Squad KTJL takes place in the same universe as the Arkham games. The game is set 5 years after the events of Batman: Arkham Knight. You might be wondering how that’s possible.

Bridging Arkham Knight and Suicide Squad

What we’re about to talk about takes place in the opening hours of Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League. So spoiler alert for those who want to go into the story completely blind. For those who didn’t play the last Arkham game, Batman faked his death at the end of the game. So seeing him in the trailers and in the game might have shocked a few fans.

In the years following his “death,” Bruce Wayne was contacted by Superman about coming out of retirement. We’re shown a lot of this story information in the early hours of the game during the first mission traveling to Arkham Asylum. Fans should expect characters familiar with the story of the Arkham games to reference the events that happened.

What’s more, the voice actors of iconic characters such as the Penguin and the Riddler have made their return in Suicide Squad KTJL. You’ll be able to hear the likes of Nolan North and Wally Wingert respectively. And if you’re looking to play the game solo, you’ll want to find out if you can play offline.
