Yes, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre game is cross-play. However, that yes is not as simple as it sounds because The Texas Chain Saw Massacre can be played on two different generations of platforms, and not all of these are crossplay. This means there will be different matchmaking based on the platform and generation you play on:

  • PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S players can matchmake with each other.
  • Players on Xbox One can only matchmake with other Xbox One players.
  • Players on PlayStation 4 can only matchmake with other PlayStation 4 players.

For more information, see the chart above to see if your platform and generation are cross-play compatible.

How to disable cross-play in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

By default, cross-play is always enabled on all cross-play platforms. However, you can turn off cross-play anytime by accessing the Game tab from the Options menu. Enabling cross-play allows you to see and interact with players from different platforms during public matches. You can also matchmake with other players who have the feature enabled. If you choose to turn it off, you will only be able to matchmake with players on the same platform who have also disabled cross-play. In addition, players cannot view each other’s friend lists on different platforms, but game-generated invite codes can be used to invite friends to a party or lobby. Everyone can play together once a friend joins a party until it’s disbanded.

Does The Texas Chain Saw Massacre have cross-progression?

Lastly, there will be no cross-progression for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Your progress and save files will be tied to the individual platform you are playing on. While this may be disappointing for people who like to play games on multiple platforms, at least we have cross-play!
