Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Areelu’s Laboratory secrets guide – Act 5
Let’s talk about what you need to do in Areelu’s Lab during Act 5 of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.
Important Items in Iz
Before you go there, however, you’ll need to travel to Iz. This major dungeon has integral choices related to the fates of supporting characters, which we won’t discuss in detail here. Instead, it’s imperative that you prioritize the Temple area to the northwest. If you go to the other locations, Deskari’s locust swarm will destroy the place, preventing you from picking up the notable items and locking you out of the secret ending for good. In any case, the items that you need are:
- Glass Key – Found in a small nook via a Perception check.
- Key Crystal – Inside the circular chamber where you’ll battle the Anemora. This also starts an errand that takes you back to Areelu’s Lab.

Back at the Lab
Return to the lab and place the Key Crystal in the main chamber’s projector. This will cause a golden portal to appear. Enter it and you’ll find yourself in a dream world with two staircases. You can’t pass through the right, so make your way to the left. You’ll stumble upon what looks like the rundown hut.

Areelu Approval
Here’s what you need to do:
- Interact with these objects in order: Cradle -> Drawings -> Textbooks.
- This lets you unlock the nearby dresser for the Embroidered Gloves.
- Make sure you pick up the Vial of Magical Formula from the other cabinet, too.

The Summoning Area
Next up, you’ll find yourself at the clearing in front of the hut. There are several summoning circles here, as well as a specific secret.

Here’s what you need to do:
- Interact with the projector to spawn a Balor. Kite it away from the summoning circle and kill it.
- You should see a loot icon in the middle of the large summoning circle. Place the Vial of Magical Formula inside its loot container. This causes two more enemies to spawn, so take them out.
- Before passing through the portal, check the nearby clearing to spot a stained glass window. You can open this with the Glass Key.
- You’ll be in a small tower that’s got several scrolls. The one you’re looking for is Areelu’s Drafts document. You can research this later via the Crusade panel in the “Others” tab.

The Prison
Go through the portal and you’ll end up in a prison dream state. There are a couple of spirits here that you can talk to: the hunter Setrei and the traitor Opon. You can release them or keep them imprisoned, but don’t attack them. Shortly thereafter, you must answer Areelu’s questions based on your recent actions.

Here’s what you need to do:
- What you felt in the ruins: “Sadness” or “Rage.”
- Setrei: “His guilt is indisputable…” (if released); “For the sake of justice…” (if he remained imprisoned).
- Opon: “For the sake of justice…” (if released); “Betrayal deserves punishment…” (if he remained imprisoned).
After that, tell her that you have nothing to discuss, and do not destroy the projector in the room. You’ll be able to teleport back to the hut, where you’ll see a vision of the past. And that about does it for the Areelu’s Laboratory secrets in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.
Note: Don’t forget to research the Areelu’s Drafts project via the Crusade menu. You might get a duplicate, so try to research both of them if you can.
