Diablo 4: PTR comes for the first time before Season 4

To not suffer inclement criticism and trolling from the video game community, studios would want to include their fanbase as much as possible during the creation and development of beloved franchise entries. Diablo 4, while commercially successful, has received a mixed reaction since the base game and its seasonal content dropped. And while the game has improved since its release date — thanks to the Season of the Blood, for instance — there is still a lot of ground to cover. Thankfully, things appear to be changing. Blizzard has announced the introduction of PTR — also known as Public Test Realm — to Diablo 4.

Now if you are unfamiliar with the concept of PTR, in simple words, it is sort of a beta testing period. Players get to try new features that developers will use in future versions of the game. In this case, Blizzard will include PTR for the first time in Diablo 4, having introduced it before in Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. For this PTR, players will get to try and give feedback on content that will be available during Season 4 of Diablo 4.

There is not much more information at the moment, but Blizzard will soon announce a brand new Campfire Chat focused on PTR and Season 4. While we cannot say anything about the quality of the content that will come in the future, at least it is reassuring that the devs care about their game by including players with this new feature.
