Cecia
Cecia is the character you want to have in your back row. She belongs to the marksman class, but her real talent is her Ultimate. Queens Summons calls for Mr. Carlyle, who is dropped into a single tile on the map. From here, he casts an entanglement trap that causes 140% of Cecia’s damage to all enemies within a one-tile radius. Further, Mr Carlyle can also deal 170% of Cecia’s damage to surrounding enemies. These numbers increase with her level.
Cecia doesn’t need to move from the back line to decimate the enemies. Her attacks focus on entrapment and summoning, making her one of the best characters to unlock quickly in AFK Journey.
Rowan
A weak team can go far with strong support, and that’s why Rowan is one of the best characters to unlock for AFK Journey. Their focus is on healing and providing energy to the rest of the team. Due to their health and energy supply skills working on AoE, I find that putting them in the middle of a team setup is most effective.
Rowans Ultimate will quickly have your whole team running their ultimate almost constantly. They pull up a square into the fray and boost everyone with two tiles of energy by 250 points. This increases as they level. Rowan is a goated support for even the weakest teams.
Thoran
What you want from a tank in any team build is seemingly limitless health and deflection. Thoran is the best tank character in AFK Journey because he has both. With his basic moveset, Thoran can drain health, be revived, and kill players. However, he becomes one of the best tanks in AFK Journey with his ultimate.
Using Soul Retaliation, Thoran charges up for some time to slash at enemies in range, dealing 200% damage plus 180% of damage received during the charge. He also gains a 20% Life Drain on top of this move. This increases as he levels. His huge health and ability to recharge make him devastating on the field.
Hewynn
For a healing superstar, you can’t go wrong with Hewynn. Her moveset is dedicated to keeping the rest of your characters alive through every AFK Journey battle. I would suggest keeping her at the back, away from the heavy hitters, and letting her work her magic. Most of her moves have either a full map range or a significant amount of tiles.
With most of her moves, Hewynn translates her attack points into healing. So, when looking at her stats, see ATK as healing instead. What makes her one of the best characters to invest in in AFK Journey is her ability to keep everyone alive. Her moves will either focus on one character that happens to be struggling or, with her Ultimate, provide a 9s-long health boost.
Vala
With healing, energy, summons, and tanks covered, all that’s left for the ultimate AFK Journey team is the DPS. This is where Vala shines. She excels at both ranged and close-range attacks and is just as comfortable right up there with the tanks as she is on the back row.
Vala can switch between Skyblaster mode and Sword mode, which are guns and swords, respectively. While switching between these modes, she will mark enemies, leap to empty spaces, and hide from view. She is an incredibly fast-moving member of AFK Journey and a nightmare to fight, but one of the best on any team. Vala is one of the best characters for fast-paced damage.
