Vampire Survivors: How to unlock Cosmo Pavone

Been spendin’ most his life, livin’ as a bird of paradise.

Cosmo Pavone is one of the most powerful characters in Vampire Survivors, boasting incredible health recovery capabilities alongside two “free” weapons, in terms of inventory space. As with many characters in Vampire Survivors, however, the difficulty comes in figuring out how to unlock Cosmo Pavone, based on the cryptic hints the game gives.

Thankfully, we’ve done the deciphering so that you don’t have to. Read on for a full guide on how to unlock Cosmo Pavone in Vampire Survivors.

Vampire Survivors: How to unlock Cosmo Pavone

Step 1: Choose a character with no Golden Eggs

The entry related to Cosmo Pavone in the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane reads as follows: “With a pure heart and two good friends, visit the fiery balcony in Capella Magna.

This is a surprisingly useful hint, with the biggest difficulty coming in the first few words. “With a pure heart” refers to using a character with no Golden Eggs, since each one you have raises your Curse stat by a little. Make sure you choose a character that hasn’t collected any Golden Eggs before you attempt to unlock Cosmo Pavone. You can check how many Eggs each of your characters has on the character select screen to make sure.

Step 2: Head to Capella Magna

This part is fairly self-evident from the hint: once you’ve picked your Eggless character, choose the Capella Magna stage to continue with the process. Despite being the last major stage in the base game, it’s not particularly difficult, so your choice of character doesn’t matter much here beyond the aforementioned Egg condition.

Step 3: Acquire Peachone and Ebony Wings

Now that you’re in the right stage, you’ll need to address the “two good friends” part of the hint, by collecting the Peachone and Ebony Wings weapons. Their level is irrelevant for the rest of this process, so as soon as you have both, you’re alright to proceed. Just be sure not to evolve the pair into Vandalier, as this will prevent you from being able to unlock Cosmo Pavone.

Step 4: Make your way to the fiery balcony

Now that you’ve got the support you need, you can make your way to the “fiery balcony” mentioned in the hint. This is located directly north of your starting location, and can easily be found by heading towards the orange Nduja Fritto Tanto icon on the map.

Step 5: Collect Cosmo Pavone

Once you’re here, with your bird friends by your side, you should be able to pass through the barrier and down onto the balcony itself, where Cosmo Pavone himself sits waiting. Walk into him to ‘collect’ him, thus completing the unlock process.

Step 6: Purchase Cosmo Pavone and enjoy!

With that done, Cosmo Pavone will now be available for purchase on the character select screen once you finish your run! He’s a very interesting character, with low base health, but an incredible health recovery rate that grows with every level he gains, as well as free hidden copies of Peachone and Ebony Wings that level up alongside him.

Now that he’s unlocked, you’ll be able to enjoy Cosmo Pavone’s unique playstyle in your future Vampire Survivors runs.
