To be clear, there are some overlaps among the classes in Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters. As such, we won’t discuss every single perk in the skill tree. Instead, we’ll simply talk about the core abilities and ideal picks for the Purgator.

  • Purgator – Can equip the Psycannon, Psilencer, and Incinerator ranged weapons.
  • Preferred talent roll 1: Eagle Eye – +10% crit rate for all ranged attacks.
  • Preferred talent roll 2: Crack Shot – +2 crit damage for all ranged attacks.
  • Preferred talent roll 3: Quartermaster – +1 use for grenades.

Ideal options

  • Ranged Weapon Discipline
    • Upgrade: Crit Damage – +2 crit damage.
      • Upgrade: Ammo – +1 ammo.
      • Return Fire – +50% to shoot an enemy automatically if they fire at your character.
  • Psilencer Discipline
    • Support Fire – When an enemy is shot within this unit’s weapon range, trigger an auto-fire that deals 2 damage; doesn’t trigger with overwatch.
    • Upgrade: Range – +4 range.
    • Upgrade: Crit Damage – +2 crit damage.
    • Upgrade: Ignore Cover – Ignore damage penalties versus enemies in partial cover, but not those in full cover.
  • Astral Aim Discipline
    • Astral Aim – Shoot a target to deal 4 damage; 100% crit; can choose to destroy a body part.
    • Warp Charge – Armor-piercing; no stun.
    • Mental Focus – Ranged critical hits have a 50% chance to give +1 AP.
  • Optional: Kill Zone Discipline
    • Sanctified Kill Zone – Blast an area to afflict vulnerability for one turn; vulnerable targets suffer +2 damage from attacks.
    • Upgrade: Duration – Vulnerability lasts for an additional turn.
    • Enduring Reflexes – +1 use/turn for all auto-counter abilities.
  • Optional: Wargear Discipline
    • Unlock: Grenade Slot – Gain an extra grenade slot.
    • Upgrade: Ammo – Grenades gain +1 ammo.

Preferred loadout and battlefield role

  • Weapons – Psilencer; no melee weapon.
  • Armor – N/A.
  • Wargear – Lots of grenades or range/crit-boosting items.

With the above setup, your Purgator class in Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters should be able to provide decent firepower to blast opponents. The Psilencer is ideal for single-target disruption, as well as wide-area coverage with Scattershot. Sadly, because the Psilencer doesn’t have overwatch, you’ll primarily rely on the Support Fire perk, which lets you gun down an enemy that’s being shot by an ally. This can be used in conjunction with an Interceptor that also has Support Fire, so multiple units can shred the same mob.

Another option is to acquire grenade-focused perks. With more grenades, you can cause extra AoE damage, armor-shredding, and knockback.
